The Limpsfield Cookery School opened its doors for the first time last month to offer budding chefs and home cooks an extensive range of courses from cake making and chocolate skills to Asian Fusion and Fish Cookery.
The School was founded by Jacqueline Derbyshire, a self-confessed foodie, in response to discovering a lack of courses which could help her learn and improve her own cookery skills. “I found that there were either no courses available to help me learn, or those that were available were more geared to professional chefs and felt cold and unwelcoming.” She says.
To create a warm and inviting atmosphere, Limpsfield’s courses are run from the School’s purpose-built farmhouse style kitchen, where guests will be educated in a fun and inclusive way. Whether you are looking to start out with kitchen basics, practise your baking, or planning to learn a whole new cuisine, there will be a course for you.
All full day courses include lunch and Jacqueline and her team fully encourage everyone to use this time to have a chat about what they’ve learnt with their classmates and teacher. You will take home everything that you cook to wow your friends and family with your new-found skills!
The Limpsfield Cookery School takes menu inspiration from the local surroundings and ensures that all food, wherever possible, is sourced from Surrey, with careful attention paid to minimising food miles and waste.
