The Goods Shed

Local really means local at The Goods Shed in Canterbury. Next to the city’s Western train station, under the roof of a Victorian railway shed, it holds a farmers’ market, food hall and restaurant. Here you can find the best of what Kent has to offer, all sourced from within a 20-mile radius, including produce from a fishmonger, a nose-to-tail butchery, a fruit and veg stand, a cheesemaker and much more. Their high quality produce comes from a sturdy network of Kentish farmers, as well as a 100-acre farm recently acquired by the owner, Susanna Sait. The farm allows The Goods Shed to cultivate unique and rare British kitchen ingredients such as edible flowers, figs, quince, and currants. The kaleidoscope of colour at this special spot has long acted as a visual reference for customers and chefs, inspired by the flow of British seasons and the traditional, rural values of East Kent. This homely and inviting local hotspot celebrates the very best of what the South East has to offer, and when you shop there you know you’re investing in and supporting a network of brilliant small producers as well as the local economy.
