Benenden School is delighted to welcome Ms Rachel Bailey as their new Head this term.  Rachel is an experienced educational leader with a clear track record of delivering a holistic education centred on strong academics while building the confidence, resilience and self-esteem that are so necessary for life and work in the 21st Century. “I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed to lead such a wonderful school as Benenden as it moves into its second century at the forefront of girls’ education. I am very much looking forward to getting to know the girls and the entire Benenden community over the coming months.” Ms Bailey joined Benenden from another girls’ school, Royal Masonic School for Girls, where she was Head of Senior School, having previously been its Senior Deputy Academic.
She holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and is also an accomplished musician and music aficionado, passionate about equestrianism and reading. Ms Bailey joins Benenden at a particularly exciting time; it is launching its first bus route for local day students and is preparing to expand its Sixth Form from 2025 at the same time as creating a Lower School House for all its Year 7 and 8 students. In November it will be hosting an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Conference for Sixth Formers from across the country.
