Green Lights at Slindon College
At Slindon College young people are inspired to excel in science, technology, engineering and maths through a unique challenge: to design, build and race an electric car. Through UK charity Greenpower Education Trust, pupils compete at Greenpower events, including at nearby Goodwood Motor Circuit. This year, their two electric-powered Greenpower cars both achieved top-ten finishes in their races, with a particular highlight being 2nd place in the F24 race at Dunsfold Park. At the Greenpower International Final, Sixth Form car Lightning 1 recorded the fastest lap time out of 180 cars and went on to secure an impressive 8th place overall. F24 car Burby also performed strongly, finishing 11th out of 80 in its race. slindoncollege.co.uk

Co-Education at SWPS
Sir William Perkins’s School (SWPS) will open its doors to boys from September 2026 as the school begins their journey to full co-education. This Chertsey school delivers exceptional education for ages 11–18. In 2025, 85% of GCSE grades were 9–7 and 86% of A Levels were A*–B. Boys will initially join years 7 and 12 (and applications to do so are now open) with plans to progress to being fully co-educational by 2030. This decision has been made to create a more inclusive community to reflect the modern world. Book March Open Mornings to discover how SWPS helps every student thrive at swps.org.uk
