Some news from our thriving education providers
ACS International School Cobham is named an Apple Distinguished School
ACS International School Cobham has been named as a prestigious Apple Distinguished School for 2022-2025 in recognition of innovative one-to-one iPad and MacBook Air provision. Apple Distinguished Schools use Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration and critical thinking in learning, teaching and the school environment, and have documented results of academic accomplishment. ACS Cobham was recognised for its focus on augmented reality (AR), and for giving students the opportunity to use Apple technology to facilitate learning and understanding. In the Early Childhood and Lower School, iPads are used daily by all students and have been at the centre of educational projects.
Ashford Prep is in pursuit of ‘Roundedness’
“To my mind being described as an ‘all-rounder’ is the ultimate compliment. The primary years of education should not only provide a firm foundation in an academic core, but moreover should give young children the opportunity to experience as much as possible – in turn unlocking the door to their potential. It is for this reason that at Ashford Prep School the pursuit of ‘well-roundedness’ is at the heart of what we seek to do for every child in our care. We are proud to have recently become part of the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate (PSB), a growing group of over 40 leading schools that firmly believe in the value of an education that not only has exceptional breadth and depth, but also focuses on developing six core skills. The 6 core skills at the heart of the PSB are thinking and learning; reviewing and improving; communicating; independence; collaborating and leadership. These core skills can be applied to learning across the curriculum and in doing so ensure that pupils become increasingly skilful all-round learners. We look forward to celebrating the ‘roundedness’ of our pupils when we award our first batch of PSB Certificates to Year 6 at the end of this academic year.” Mr Nick Tiley-Nunn, Head of Ashford Prep School.
