Do you have a beauty regime? I start my day with dry skin brushing to stimulate the lymphatic system, followed by a cold flash shower to get the circulation going and wake me up! I don’t have a lot of time in the morning as I teach spin and Pilates most days, so my face routine is quick and easy. Environ B-active is a perfect range for keeping it simple. I start with the Sebuwash followed by Sebutone to prep the skin, then AVST 5 face cream and eye gel. After my ablutions, I drink a large mug of hot lemon water with a pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt to balance my body for the day. I repeat the face routine at the end of the day as well – see simple!
Do you have a particular product you couldn’t live without? My husband bought me a tub of Guam Salinated Algae from Liberty a couple of years ago, and now I am pretty much hooked. Not only does it smell amazing, but has a high concentrate of algae, which is great for detoxifying and eliminating cellulite. I mix it with Magnesium flakes in my warm bath to relax my muscles every night before bed.
What’s your ultimate pampering treat? I love massages so much that I have one every two weeks. A good massage not only works into the muscles, but also totally relaxes the mind. It is the only time I truly switch off, unless I have loads of knots in my calves, which can be painful to release. Massage is a bit like an MOT for the body and not enough people with postural stress (from sitting at a desk) realize the full benefits of working into shoulder, neck and back tension.
Who’s your style icon? Charlize Theron is one of my favourite women. Not only is she a talented actor, but also her work with the UN, PETA and her own organization CTAOP (Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project) supporting African youth in the fight against HIV/AIDS proves she cares about the world and has beauty within. My favourite role of hers was as Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, she epitomizes feminism and produces a strong female role model – she also pulls off a shaved head beautifully.
After having her three children, Jaime founded Popcycle in 2016. Her high intensity classes and non-stop energy are motivational and challenging.
