If you’ve made the decision to continue to work from home, why not invest in a beautiful outdoor space that will allow you to take control of your working life, maintain work/life balance and provide a gorgeous focal point in the garden

Contemporary working…

Malvern Garden Buildings’ bespoke cedar garden rooms and offices are made to order, handcrafted by skilled craftsmen in the Worcestershire factory before being delivered and installed by a team of experienced fitters.

Malvern’s garden rooms and offices are made using Canadian Western Red kiln dried Cedar, a contemporary yet classic building material renowned for its naturally occurring compounds – ‘thujaplicins’ – which act as natural preservatives, making the wood incredibly durable.

The Hanley (above) is a bespoke building available in an extensive range of sizes. Double glazed and fully insulated throughout, it’s a versatile building with a contemporary feel which can be used in every season. There are several roof styles to choose from – Apex, Flat or Hipped – and glass-to-ground glazing allows natural light to pour into the building, connecting you with the garden all year round. Prices start at £16,920.

If you’re after a sleek, Crittal-style design, the Hanley Heritage (below, left & right) features powder coated aluminium doors and windows, giving this workspace a stylish industrial aesthetic. Like the Hanley, this design comes in a range of sizes and roof styles. Prices start at £24,165. You can download a brochure of the full Home Office range online at malverngardenbuildings.co.uk.

This construction and the materials used provides a comfortable environment for working year round

The building pictured is a 5m x 3m oak garden office by The Oak Glasshouse Company. Specialising in glazed elevations, the company created the office structure with this feature on two sides. The elevations are glazed using 28mm double glazed argon-filled units with oak air-dried boards on the exterior face of the building. This construction and the materials used provides a comfortable environment for working all year round. The solid walls are a treated softwood studwork, insulated between the studs and clad in weatherboarding.

A building of this size would typically be completed within 3 weeks of the company’s first day on site. The cost of the building is £18,000+VAT delivered and installed, which includes taking the building to a watertight stage i.e. the roof and exterior completed. The interior is then taken to plasterboard level and the floor structure created. Clients then have the final floor finish / electrical / plumbing / decorating to complete, for which they tend to use local contractors or finish the works themselves.
