Vinehall School explain how they help little ones settle at nursery
Starting nursery is a significant milestone for both children and parents, often accompanied by excitement and anxiety. At Little Vines Nursery, we understand the importance of this transition and are committed to making it as smooth and supportive as possible. Our philosophy focuses around building strong partnerships with families, ensuring that every child feels secure and valued from day one. We are dedicated to prioritising the emotional and developmental needs of every child.
Time and Patience
Every child adjusts at their own pace. We encourage parents to be patient and provide their children with the time they need to settle in comfortably.
Building Trust
Trust is the foundation of a positive nursery experience. We focus on creating an atmosphere where both parents and children feel safe and confident, fostering strong relationships between staff and families.
Individualised Support
Recognising that each child is unique, we use All About Me forms to gather detailed information about your child’s likes, dislikes, and needs. This personalised approach helps us cater to each child’s specific requirements, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment
Key Person System
Every child is assigned a Key Person along with Co Key People who play a crucial role in their development. This system ensures consistent care and attention, helping form secure attachments and enhancing emotional wellbeing.
Gradual Introduction
To ease the transition, we offer Taster Sessions where parents can accompany their children for short periods. This gradual introduction helps both children and parents feel more comfortable and confident in the new setting.
Community Engagement
We believe in creating a sense of community. Our free Toddler Sessions, Messy Monkeys, and Forest School are perfect for families to explore our nursery and build connections with our staff and other families. Throughout the year, we organise events like We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, offering families the chance to get familiar with our nursery and its beautiful surroundings. These events are integral in helping families feel a part of our vibrant community.
